The photography artist, Leyla EMEKTAR was born in 1972 in Adana. After completing her primary, secondary and high education in this city, she gradu-ated from Çukurova University, Art Department of Faculty of Fine Arts. She started her career as Visual Arts Teacher and she is still pursuing her job. 

The photographer who gives lectures as workshops to photography societies and groups, was rewarded the degree of AFIAP in 2012 and EFIAP by “Federation ınterna-tionale de L’art Photographique (FIAP)”.

She was given the degree of GPUCR2 by Global Photographic Union in 2014.

In both national and international contests, her works won over 250 prizes.

In 2013, by the Digital Arts Museum in California, her artworks were given Stellar Art Awards.

In 2015, in the documentary portfolio competition organized by China HPA and Unesco –the official partner-, by achieving a great success she was invited to China.

Winning “The Alfred Fried Photography Award” which is held in Austria, she was in-vited to the Ceremony of Peace Photography and she became one of five photogra-phers who deserved to get Peace Photography Prize in 2016. Her artwork was perenially taken to the Parliament Museum in Austria.

In the International Photography Festival that is held in Siena, 2016, among 127 countries and 45000 photographs, she deserved to get the first prize, she was invited to Italy and brought Pangea Prize to her country.

In the years 2010, 2012, 2014, she got the Success Prize for three times in the Gov-ernment Photography Contest in the section of Creative Works.

Together with Professor Güler Ertan, she has compiled and published Turkish anthol-ogy of photography in a 374-page book since 1960.

Her personal interviews were published in the leading International Photography Magazines.

In 2017, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum international photograpy award (HIPA) received  award in the category of digital manipulation.

In 2017, Xposure Sharjah İnternational phtography award received award in the cate-gory of photojournalism. 

In 2018, Xposure Sharjah İnternational phtography award received award in the cate-gory of digital manipulation.

2018 yılında has won many awards including Şinasi Barutçu Cup, which is a prestige Cup of Turkey.

In 2018, she became one of the ten photographers invited to China, ranking in the documentary photography contest organized in China with the motto of the world's 10 best photographers.

In 2018, she won the grand prize at the global photography competition in Japan and was invited to Japan.

He was invited to the DongGang International Photo Festival held in Seoul in 2019 and his photographs were exhibited in Seoul during the festival.

She took part in many national and international photography festivals with her per-sonal and group exhibitions.

She takes part as a member of jury in many national and international photography competitions.

She keeps working on Creative Photography.

She is married and has two children.
