Fethi İzan

He received his primary and secondary education in Adana.

He attended Adana High School where he was introduced to photography.

In 1982 he became a student at Çukurova University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Chemistry.

While studying at school he attended many national and international exhibitions and received awards.

Then in 1989 he started studying at Mimar Sinan University Fine Arts Faculty’s Department of Photography.  

Between the years 1990-1991 he worked as a photojournalist at the Güneş Newspaper’s photo editing department. 

Between 1991-1993 he worked as a producer-director at the İLTEK multivision company and executed national and international promotions. 

In 1993 he cofounded Utopia Photo Production company with one of his friends and started doing advertising photography.

In 2010 he cofounded a new company called “P Blok - Creative Production.” P Blok is a visual production center which offers photography, film, production and post production services to a variety of brands.

He’s primarily focused on still life, life style and portrait photography, and also has various photo series which consist of his personal works. He has received national and international awards for the photos he shot for the advertising world. While holding workshops in educational institutions on various subjects including light, composition, shooting techniques and advertising photography, Fethi İzan also holds a seminar series called “Advertising Photography at a Digital Age.”

Fethi İzan, a versatile photographer, has written many articles on advertising photography and shooting techniques which were published in Fotograf and Fotoritim magazines. And last but not least, he is the author of a chapbook called “Reklam Fotografçılığı” (Advertising Photography) published by Rota Yayınları.
