Adnan Veli Kuvanlık (1957 - 2008)

Born in 1957 in Ankara, Adnan Veli Kuvanlık graduated from Ankara Gazi University, Department of English in 1980. He focused on photography in 1983. He opened his first personal exhibition in 1989 at the Ankara AFSAD Club under the name of "working person", in 1991 in the UNDP (united nations) building "environment and people", in 1992 in Ankara Gallery Titi and Afsad Lokali ". His next exhibitions called "Solitude". The exhibition was repeated in the same year at AFAD Club in Adana and at Çukurova University. In 1993 he opened his exhibition named "poloraid images" in AFAD Club, and in 1994, again in the same club and for the first time in our country, "digital images" consisting of photographs designed in digital media (computer). "digital images" were enlarged and repeated in 1995 at Kocaeli Industry Fair and Ankara State Painting and Sculpture Museum.

In 1999, he opened his "24 hours" exhibition at Ankara University Culture and Art House (ankusev). In February 2000, the exhibition was repeated at Adana Afad Lokali. In September 2000, he opened his 3-dimensional photography exhibition named "3rd dimension" at The British Council Art Gallery, again a technical first in Turkey. He participated in many group exhibitions and slide shows at home and abroad. The artist, who received many awards in national and international competitions, won the title of "photographer of the year" by Afsad in 1989, first place in the 4th state photography contest in 1990, second place in the National Geographic Society, USA in 1992, in 1992 in Cordoba, Spain. silver medal, Cordoba in 1994, gold medal in Spain, 5th Austrian Super Circuit in 1995, Austria, honorable mention, 1996 Fotogen Şinasi Barutcu Cup, 1994-95-98 Afad Gold Camera Award, 9th in 2000. He received the prize of success in the State Photography Competition.
