Birds of Malatya

Prepared under the auspices of the Türkiye Fotoğraf Sanatı Federasyonu, the virtual exhibition “Birds of Malatya” aims to make the quiet yet fascinating inhabitants of nature visible through the medium of photography. The exhibition presents 30 bird photographs taken by bird photographer and member of the Malatya Fotoğraf ve Sinema Sanatı Derneği (MAFSAD), Koray Kutlutürk, to photography enthusiasts and photographers alike.

All of the colorful and striking birds featured in the exhibition were photographed in the natural habitats of Malatya. Reflecting the region’s rich bird diversity, these images were captured in different years, seasons, and lighting conditions. Various cameras and photographic equipment were used during the shoots; each photograph is the result of long hours spent in nature, careful observation, and great patience.

Bird photography requires adapting to the rhythm of nature, sometimes waiting silently for hours, and putting in considerable effort to capture the right moment. For this reason, each frame in the exhibition is not only an aesthetic image but also a reflection of a patient and respectful relationship with nature.

The virtual exhibition “Birds of Malatya” invites viewers on a brief journey into Malatya’s rich world of birds, while also drawing attention to the importance of protecting nature. Because the more we come to know nature, the more we love it—and the more we love it, the more we strive to protect it.
