A PHOTO EXHIBITION ABOUT WOMEN: A HIVE AGAINST GENDER INEQUALITY!

The Beehive Project Group is presenting a photography exhibition on March 8, International Women's Day, in order to draw attention to gender inequality. The team of sixteen people gathered online for six weeks, starting in January, under the umbrella of FSK (Ankara Photography Art Institution Society). Social inequalities on the basis of art, photography and gender were discussed at these meetings. As a result, the Beehive group decided to give its first fruit with a photography exhibition about women.

Although it is an exhibition about women, feminism does not lie under our intellectual basis. Because all disadvantaged groups, including children, disabled individuals immigrants, LGBTQ and even men, are included in our perspective. The artists in the exhibition are also nourished by different roots. Perhaps what makes the beehive strong is the ability of completely separate individuals to unite for a common purpose.

Organized by Ayça KARAOĞLAN and Sevgi KÖYLÜ HALİLOĞLU, the exhibition will open on March 8, 2022 at 18:30 at the TFSF (Turkish Photographic Art Federation) Art Gallery, one of the 22 FIAP (International Photographic Art Federation) Exhibition Centers in the world. In the 10-day exhibition, it will be possible to view 32 photographs of 16 photographers and access the manifest of each artist. One day later, you will be able to access the works produced by the project group members, including the photographs that are not included in the physical exhibition, at the TFSF Virtual Gallery (https://tfsfsanalgaleri.org/).

We invite you, as a member of society, to our exhibition, with the hope that this work, which we are trying to reveal from the perspective of photography, may shed light on the problems of women, even if it is small, open a way and raise awareness. With love and light…
