GOOD THINGS WILL HAPPEN TODAY!

We made our first announcement on a meaningful day such as May 19, 2021 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, and as an open call to the "young breaths" in the photography.

We said that it is a duty for every citizen of this nation to support our youth, to whom we entrust our future, with the responsibility and determination of walking in the footsteps of Atatürk. In this first announcement of a series of events that we will organize to support our future in the field of photography, we, as the Turkish Photography Art Federation, addressed the young people who could not find the opportunity to open an exhibition or put their photography project into practice, even though they were producing. For this reason, one of our projects was called "MY FIRST EXHIBITION" and the other was "DON'T BE UNFINISHED".

The “FIRST EXHIBITION” project, which we set out to hold the hands of young people who can make beautiful productions, who are excited and who want to share something, to give them the opportunity to exhibit, to get to know and promote them, has come to an end. It was a good participation in the Advisory Board, our valuable professors Prof. Dr. Erol Ozer, Assoc. Dr. Ismail Keskin, Dr. Faculty Member Ahmet Imancer, Dr. Teaching. Member Baybars Sağlamtimur and Dr. Abdullah Sezgin's evaluations, they determined the works of 8 of our friends as the preliminary acceptance stage. Our board of directors evaluated the works of 3 of them as the first successful ones in our “MY FIRST EXHIBITION” project.

In addition, with a decision we have taken as the Board of Directors, we will introduce these eight young friends and their works to you with the exhibitions we will open in our virtual gallery, together with our professors who took part in the selection tonight.

We look forward to witnessing and supporting their excitement.

As I said, "good things" will happen today, we are waiting for you.

Butterflies of Turkey

Turkey has an important place in the world in terms of butterfly richness. It contains about 380 species, 50 of which are endemic. Butterflies are important pollinators, important indicators of environmental health and have a key role in ecological balance. Butterflies are highly sensitive creatures to environmental changes. Activities aimed at the destruction of natural habitats in Turkey, such as construction on natural habitats, drying of wetlands, unconscious use of pesticides in agriculture, dams and hydroelectric power plants, and drying up stream beds, unfortunately, quickly harm the lives of butterflies and many living species. This exhibition emphasizes their beauty, freedom, sensitivity and need for protection. I wish everyone to enjoy this exhibition and to think about the protection of butterflies and many living species, one of the beauties of Turkey.

Fatih YILMAZ

I was born in 1993. Currently, I am in the state institution in the province of Bitlis.

I am working as a Science Teacher. My photography adventure did not start in Bitlis of course. Today I started my photography life, which I started as a hobby on the occasion of a friend at university. I continue to reflect photos from almost every province of Turkey into my frame. During these adventures, my camera is always hanging around my neck. My soul expands as my destinations increase. Seeing the world with my own eyes I want to have a memory in every corner of the world. Traveling and seeing those moments As I photograph, the rooms inside me increase. My intention is a palace with countless rooms inside to create.

Traveling, photographing while traveling, getting to know new cultures is the most important thing for my soul. I see it as the main thing. I share the pain of the people I photograph.

Being able to feel their joy and feeling their joy is an invaluable feeling for me. so life

The photography is the area that interests me the most. I think Photography is my way of expressing my soul, my feelings. The idea for the exhibition was a plan that I had in mind for a long time. Just your photos coming out of my lens I knew that it should not be hidden from me, but that I should share it with everyone. Art anyway It is purely for the community.

Now it's time to introduce all of Turkey what is reflected in my frame on the occasion of TFSF.

An Inter-Arts Relationship

Although architectural design and photography are two separate fields where visual aesthetics come to the fore, when their historical development is examined, it can be seen that the paths of the two arts often cross. From the fact that the first photographs taken in history involved structures and street silhouettes that are the product of architecture to the fact that photography has a role in the theory of modern architecture, especially in Le Corbusier's statements about framing the view or buildings being a camera, all these intersection points indicate that the disciplines of architecture and photography are in an ongoing relationship. Being aware of this relationship can also offer various opportunities to both architects and photographers. For example, while architecture creates a wide subject background for photographers, photography can help architect candidates, especially during their education, in the essential issues of space design. Such as being able to read and design space and urban aesthetics through the perception of photography, to think about the relationship between architectural product and environment, to be aware of the effect of the elements that make up the design from the detail to the whole, to perceive the space from the user's point of view. Having both architecture and photography education, I have seen the benefit of this mutual relationship in all my works over the years. As someone who has given his heart to both arts, I can neither separate my identity as an architect from photography nor my photographs from architecture, nor can I think of myself as separate from one of the two arts. I am honored to share this selection, named An Inter-Arts Relationship, in which I tried to reflect the relationship between photography and architecture with The Photographic Arts Federation of Turkey and photography enthusiasts.

About me

Ever since the photograph came out of the dark room, people have tried to capture the moment and imprison the image, and as a result, they have succeeded. From that period to this period, millions of photographs and photographers have emerged. Here I am one of them. Henri Cartier BRESSON said, “People take the picture, not the machine”. I am a photographer because I am the camera.

I save the image with only one tool. I photograph daily life. I see, I watch and I catch. I try to see the things we look at in daily life. While making a difference with the details, I try to keep the feelings at the forefront. I present my photos in black and white. I hope you color it and dance with my photos while coloring it, I wish you good impressions

The Silence Of Istanbul

To participate in this competition organized by TFSF, which I chose to show myself and to have an exhibition for the first time, I applied with the photos I took in those days when I was allowed to go out, especially during the pandemic and prohibited times.

After the curfew declared in Istanbul due to the scope of the measures taken due to the coronavirus pandemic that affected the world and our country, the streets of Istanbul were buried in silence and loneliness, which is rare in history. In every photo frame I took, in the moments I witnessed, I experienced emotional times. It was an indescribable feeling and luck for me to immortalize these moments in Istanbul. I wanted to send the reflections from my viewfinder to this exhibition presented to us by TFSF.
