He was born in Ankara in 1953. He has studied in Bornova Anatolian High School (Maarif College) and Ankara High School of Science after completing his primary school in Nazilli. He has then entered to Ankara University Faculty of Medicine.

Following his graduation in 1978, he has done a compulsory service in Aydın, Yenipazar. After completing the obligatory servitude, he has entered to Ege University Faculty of Medicine to study gynecology and graduated in 1987. 

Then, he has gone to Urfa to complete another compulsory service. Following that, he has been assigned to Nazilli State Hospital. He has served to his hospital for 24 years: Usually as a specialist doctor, sometimes as an administrative officer and finally as a chief of medicine. 

He has also helped Nazilli people's health  as a practitioner doctor at the same time. Since his graduation, he has participated in the local bodies of the 'Turkish Doctors Union', especially in honor boards for a long time.

In an election on July 2020, he was chosen to board of management of 'Aydın Doctor's Chamber'. He continued with his management role until his unfortunate death due to Covid-19 on 13th October 2020. 

He is one of the founders of NAFOD (Nazilli Photography and Plasctic Arts Amateurs Society) and participated in its management board. He has always been a great guide for society member on photography.

Today, we wanted pay tribute to our old friend Esat Ülkü, a precious scientist, a good spuse and a parent, photography artist and an irreplacable man. His actions are still lighting our way. We wish he sleeps in peace.
