I was born in Çivril, Denizli in 1983. 

I finished the department of Administration at Anadolu University in 2011, and the department of Sale and Marketing at Pamukkale University in 2013. Currently I am studying at the department of Photography and Camera Operation at Anadolu University. Although my journey of photography started in 2001 with an analog camera, my real start on photographic works was at the end of 2014. I am a member of Denizli Art of Photography Association (DEFSAD). I was awarded with various awards from national and international competitions.

I especially take Street, Macro and Night photos. Taking the Robert Capa’s word: “ I prefer a technically bad but powerful image to a technically good but weak image” as a base, I try to construct my photos with the knowledge of composition, frame and light. Ara Güler and Daido Mariyama are photographers I feel close to. 

While taking photos my aims are to transfer the people lives they cannot see, take them to the places they cannot go and provide them some sights they cannot see. We can also call this as taking the lid off from the unknown.

For me, photography means telling, getting inside and being a witness, in a way, it is another way of telling. To be able to tell, one should know the language very well. I follow local and foreign publications about photography to improve myself technically and theoretically. I do enjoy watching the works of other photographers published in photography web sites.  

I think, the more a photographer goes inside other lives, the deeper story he has. For this reason, it is a must to work, be in the field, travel, interact with people, improve yourself intellectually and follow the current developments for good photograph. Thus, chasing the good photograph, working and being dragged from pillar to post is a lifestyle, a source of happiness for me. 

What I understand from “witnessing” is to be behind the curtain and reach the thing beyond the seen. As photography permanently forces me to do this, it enables me to reach a lot of dimensions of life and creates a meaning in my life.
